Reflecting the point above, for an organization to be
innovative, we need to work on the following key points:
- Top management should clear their own minds in order to identify ways to explore the potential of people.
- There must be a change from power-oriented thinking to people- and customer-oriented thinking.
- The power base must shift from the top of the organization to a lower level (the mini-company concept), so that each decision can be made at the lowest possible level.
- Top management should help coordinate these activities and provide the necessary support.
- As each person in the organization can be considered the president of a mini-company, everybody should go through the points mentioned above by themselves as well.
- As we execute these ideas, everybody needs to try to eliminate his or her own job to create more room for growth for everybody else.
If top management fails to do this, the problems developed
inside the organization may be compared to a cancer or heart defect. In other
words, if the balance within the body is upset and one cannot detect the signs
of disease, even nature's own defense system may not be enough to save it.
