The middle ages is an interval in the history of Europe from ancient times to the modern era. This period lasts approximately 1,000 years, beginning in the 5th century when the tribes of Germany defeated the Roman Empire. The Empire was divided Germany into several small kingdoms. Almost all trade ceased. Education, literature, architecture and the arts don't evolve. Christianity managed to sustain the life of European civilization and rescued Europe from perfect ignorance.
